Monkey Week: 10 MG/YA Books Featuring Monkeys

It’s Monkey Week Day #4!

Today I’ve got another list of books, but this time we’re discussing MG/YA books featuring monkey characters. In order by author:

1. City of the Beasts by Isabel Allende (via @exmoorjane)

2. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum

3. Monkey Magic: The Curse of the Mukada by Grant S. Clark (great title, but seems to feature orangutans, which are apes, not monkeys)

4. The Monkey Thief By Aileen Kilgore Henderson

5. The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling

6. By the Monkey’s Tail by Kerrie O’Connor

7. Nim at Sea by Wendy Orr (okay, the monkeys aren’t really major characters but this book is so cute I had to include it)

8. His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman (also thanks to @exmoorjane for reminding me of this one)

9. Summer of the Monkeys by Wilson Rawls

10. American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang (see my review from 2008)

Evil Monkey ALERT!! for #2 & #8
