A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle

I know this is a classic, but I just didn’t like it. It felt really dated to me from its trippy space travel to the author’s denunciation of totalitarian political systems. This was only my 2nd time reading it; the first time was in the 4th grade. I remember that I liked it at the time, but not extremely well I guess since I only read it once and I usually read books I loved over and over again. I do remember that Aunt Beast was my favorite character and she still is. Except for Aunt Beast, most of the characters were incredibly irritating particularly the misunderstood math genius main character and her creepy genius 5-year-old brother. Ugh. I hate 5 year olds who are too smart for their age and use big words. I have never read the rest of the series and I’m not sure that I ever will.
