Preschooler Favorites: Zombelina by Kristyn Crow

Zombelina by Kristyn Crow (Author), Molly Idle (Illustrator)

Since it’s Friday the 13th, I thought I’d share this recent favorite. Preschooler Monkey is obsessed with this rhyming picture book about a zombie ballerina. We read this book practically every day after I brought it home from the library. I personally didn’t think this book needed to be in rhyme (and for me a few of the rhymes didn’t work well), but PM actually has phrases from it memorized, so I think she would disagree. The illustrations are a fun mix of spooky and sweet, and I think PM relates to the story of stage fright (since she has her very first dance recital coming up!). Here’s another monster-ballet mashup we also enjoyed, recommended by my local librarian: Vampirina Ballerina.
