One thing I like about my Kindle is its ability to highlight passages/words and view them outside of the book in a separate file. I use this feature to highlight words that I ended up looking in the dictionary and to highlight quotes that I liked. I was a little dismayed to notice how many TV-related posts I have been doing lately, so I thought I would share a quote I enjoyed from “How Fiction Works” by James Wood: “Literature differs from life in that life is amorphously full of detail, and rarely directs us toward it, whereas literature teaches us to notice…” So true.
