Allappuzha

Next we drove down to Alappuzha (Alleppey), a lovely town filled with canals and streams, rice paddies and coconut trees. Known as the “Venice of the East”, many people live along the canals and get around via boats. We spent the afternoon on a houseboat and then stayed onboard overnight. It was so lovely and peaceful gliding across the waters; I definitely want to go back.
