The short version
The story is about Orya, a jungle village girl whose twelfth birthday is cut short by soldiers sent by the evil King Droleem. She is saved by the discovery that she possesses magical Talents, and is launched on a journey to find the royal document that could stop the war ravaging her country—and prove that she is the rightful heir to the throne.
The other characters
Aiding Orya in her quest is Ula, the old Sage of her village; Junspaal, a former soldier; Embit, a teenage boy who despises Orya but longs for adventure; and, of course, Ee-ee, Orya's pet monkey. Along the way, Embit and Orya learn to work together to unlock the secrets of the mysterious Book of Songs, which Orya stole from Ula's library. There are many twists and turns in Orya’s journey as she discovers the truth about her past that will change her life forever.
Where’s the rest?
Right now my sister and I are in the process of trying to get this novel published so you can’t read it in bookstores just yet.
